Seated Calf Raise
Calves · Machine
How to do it
Seated with the pads on your thighs and the balls of your feet on the platform. Full range up and down with a pause at both ends. With the knee bent the gastrocnemius is shortened and the work goes to the **soleus**, which carries most of the calf's size and which almost nobody trains. You feel it lower, near the ankle. High reps, no rush.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
