Russian Twist

How to do it

Seated with knees bent and torso leaning back slightly, holding a plate or dumbbell. Rotate your trunk side to side **moving the weight with your shoulders, not just your arms**, and control the turn at both ends. You feel the obliques. The classic mistake is swinging only the arms while the torso stays still: that is not rotation.

Variants

The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
