Barbell Full Squat
Legs · Barbell
How to do it
A normal squat but **pausing 2 or 3 seconds at the bottom**, staying tight and not relaxing. Removing the bounce makes the drive purely muscular with nowhere to hide: use considerably less weight than your normal squat. You feel quads and glutes in the most stretched position. Keep the chest tall through the pause, that is where people collapse.
Variants
The drawing is a normal squat, because a pause cannot be drawn: two or three seconds held at the bottom without losing tension, then up.
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
