Triceps Pushdown - V-Bar Attachment
Triceps · Cable
How to do it
V-bar on a high pulley, gripped overhand at shoulder width. Stand facing the pulley with your torso leaning slightly and **your elbows pinned to your sides**. Press down extending the forearm to full lockout, squeeze for a second and return under control to 90 degrees. The V-bar keeps the wrists neutral, which is more comfortable than a straight bar. The classic mistake is leaning over the bar to push with your bodyweight.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
