Sumo Deadlift with Bands
Legs · Barbell
How to do it
Loop the bands over the bar and step on the ends as you set up, making sure they sit under the back half of your foot. Sumo stance: feet wide with toes out and hands gripping inside your legs. Hips low, chest up, and pull by driving your knees out. The band bites at the top, which in sumo is where almost everyone stalls. The classic mistake is loading the bar as if the bands were not there and stalling at knee height.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
