Standing Dumbbell Press
Shoulders · Dumbbell · ×2 dumbbells
You hold two: the weight you log is ONE dumbbell's, and volume counts both.
How to do it
Standing with feet at shoulder width and a dumbbell in each hand at head height, elbows flared at around 90 degrees. Brace abs and glutes **before** you press: that is what stops your lower back arching. Press to locked elbows, bringing your hands slightly together at the top, and lower under control to chin height. Standing there is no backrest to help, so the core is part of the exercise. The classic mistake is the lower back: if you finish the set arched, drop the weight rather than hide it.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
