How to do it
Stand with your legs apart and a dumbbell in each hand, overhand grip, at hip height on one side. **Rotate your torso sweeping both dumbbells across** to the opposite side, raising them to shoulder height, and come back the same way. Your arms stay nearly straight and the movement comes from hips and torso. You feel the obliques and the shoulders. The classic mistake is the weight: on long arms, very little dumbbell already feels like a lot.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
