Reverse Barbell Preacher Curls
Biceps · Barbell
How to do it
Grip an EZ bar **overhand**, palms down, at shoulder width, and rest the backs of your arms on the preacher pad. Curl to shoulder height, squeeze for a second and lower slowly to a stretch. The reverse grip loads the brachioradialis and brachialis, not the biceps, so you lift considerably less than you expect. The classic mistake is loading it like a normal preacher curl: with a pronated grip the wrist gives out much sooner.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
