Reverse Band Deadlift
Back · Barbell
How to do it
Bands anchored at the **top** of the rack and tied to the bar so they pull towards the ceiling. Normal deadlift setup. The curve here is the opposite of banded deadlifts: **at the bottom the band takes weight off and at the top it gives it all back**, so you can load above your max and feel a weight in your hands and back that you cannot yet break off the floor. It builds the lockout and takes the fear out of a loaded bar. The classic mistake is overusing it: this is seasonal work, not a weekly staple.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
