Reverse Band Box Squat
Legs · Barbell
How to do it
In the rack with a box behind you and bands anchored at the **top** of the rack tied to the bar so they pull towards the ceiling. Descend sending your hips back, sit on the box for an instant and stand. The band takes weight off at the bottom, exactly where a squat stalls, and hands it back at the top: you can load above your max and get used to holding it. The classic mistake is overusing it: this is occasional work to take the fear out of the bar, not a weekly squat.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
