Reverse Band Bench Press
Triceps · Barbell
How to do it
Bench inside the rack with bands anchored at the **top** and tied to the bar, pulling towards the ceiling. Normal press: blades pinched, lower to your chest, pause and press. The band takes weight off at the bottom, where the press stalls, and hands it all back at the top: you can load above your max and get used to holding it. **Check the anchor before you lie down.** The classic mistake is overusing it: this is occasional lockout work, not a weekly press.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
