Power Snatch

How to do it

Bar on the floor against your shins and a **very wide grip**. Feet under your hips, hips down, back flat and shoulders ahead of the bar. Pull with your legs and, as it passes your thigh, extend hips, knees and ankles at once; receive it with straight arms overhead **without dropping below a half squat**. Stand up. **It needs shoulder mobility.** The classic mistake is the bar drifting away from you on the way up: the closer it travels, the straighter it goes and the less you have to chase it.

Variants

The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
