Power Clean from Blocks

How to do it

Same as the power clean, but with the bar resting on boxes at the height you want to train. Grip outside your legs with low hips and a flat back, extend hard and receive it on your shoulders **without going past a half squat**. Removing the floor start lets you drill the failing portion again and again without the fatigue of a full pull, and starting from a dead stop teaches you to build tension before moving. The classic mistake is relaxing your back between reps: the position is rebuilt every time.

Variants

The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
