Power Clean

How to do it

Feet slightly wider than your hips with toes turned out a little. Squat down and take a closed overhand grip just outside your legs, hips low and back flat. Pull with your legs and, as the bar passes your thigh, extend everything at once and shrug; receive it on your delts **without dropping below a half squat**. That is what makes it *power*: the catch is high. The classic mistake is pulling with the arms before the hips have finished opening.

Variants

The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
