Olympic Squat

How to do it

Bar racked **high**, on your traps, chest up and eyes forward. Feet at hip width with toes slightly out. Descend **all the way down** with your torso as upright as possible and your knees travelling over your feet, and stand without bouncing out of the hole. This is the weightlifting squat: deeper, more upright and more quad-dominant than the powerlifting version. **It needs ankle and hip mobility.** The classic mistake is rounding the lower back at the bottom chasing depth you do not have yet.

Variants

The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
