Oblique Crunches
Core · Bodyweight
How to do it
Lie on your back with your lower back pressed down. Put one hand beside your head and the other flat on the floor, and **let both knees drop together to the side opposite the working hand**, leaving your torso slightly rotated. From there curl up, hold, and lower slowly. With the hip rotated, the oblique starts stretched and works through its whole range. The classic mistake is rotating further mid-set to make it easier.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
