Incline Push-Up Wide
Chest · Bodyweight
How to do it
Hands **wider than your shoulders** on a bar or solid support, feet back and body straight from heels to head. Lower your chest to the bar, breathe in at the bottom, and press as you breathe out. A wide grip shortens the range and opens the chest more, so you feel it on the outer chest and less in the triceps. With a high support it is one of the gentlest ways to start pressing. The classic mistake is going so wide that the elbow ends up behind the shoulder line at the bottom: the chest gains nothing there and the shoulder pays.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
