Incline Cable Flye
Chest · Cable
How to do it
Pulleys at the lowest setting and an incline bench at 45 degrees right between them. Lie back with a handle in each hand and bring them together at arm's length in front of your face: that is the start. With the elbow in a slight fixed bend, open your arms in a wide arc until you feel the chest stretch, breathing in, and close with a squeeze. It aims the work at the upper chest and, being a cable, there is no dead spot. The classic mistake is opening too far chasing a stretch: once the shoulder goes behind the torso, the joint takes the load.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
