Front Raise And Pullover
Chest · Barbell
How to do it
Lie on a flat bench holding a barbell with an overhand grip, hands about fifteen inches apart, resting on your thighs with your arms nearly straight. Raise the bar in an arc with straight arms, breathing in, and keep following that arc until it is behind your head: it travels close to half a circle. Come back the same way, breathing out. You feel the chest and lats at the far end and the front delt at the start. The classic mistake is the weight: almost everyone starts with twice what they can control at arm's length.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
