Floor Glute-Ham Raise

How to do it

Kneel with your torso and thighs in line and your feet anchored, by a partner or under something solid. Lower your body towards the floor **as slowly as you possibly can**, holding the line from knees to head and braking with your hamstrings for as long as they hold; catch yourself with your hands and push just enough to return. It is the hamstring eccentric exercise and the one that best protects against tears. **Start with two or three reps**: the soreness is legendary. The classic mistake is dropping instead of braking.

Variants

The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
