Dumbbell Squat

You hold two: the weight you log is ONE dumbbell's, and volume counts both.

How to do it

Stand with a dumbbell in each hand hanging at your sides, palms towards your body, feet at shoulder width. Descend sending your hips back and down with your chest up, letting the dumbbells run outside your legs, until your thighs are parallel; stand by pushing the floor away. With the weight low and at your sides, the torso stays far more upright than with a bar and your lower back does less. The classic mistake is grip: the set usually ends when your hands tire, not your legs.

Variants

The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
