Shoulders · Dumbbell · ×2 dumbbells
You hold two: the weight you log is ONE dumbbell's, and volume counts both.
How to do it
Standing with a light dumbbell in each hand hanging at your sides and **thumbs pointing up**. Raise your arms on a diagonal, about 30 degrees ahead of your shoulder line, to shoulder height, and lower slowly. That plane is the plane of the shoulder blade, where the shoulder has the most room: which is why this is used to strengthen without pinching. **It is corrective work, not strength**: two or three kilos is plenty. The classic mistake is raising with palms down, which is exactly the position that closes the shoulder down.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
