Cross Over - With Bands
Chest · Band
How to do it
Tie the band to a post at chest height, face away from it and take a handle in each hand. Step forward until there is already tension with your arms out in a T and a slight bend at the elbow. Bring your hands together in front of you along an arc, crossing them slightly at the end, and squeeze the chest for a second before returning slowly as you breathe in. The band is hardest right where you close, which is where the chest finishes its job. The classic mistake is bending the elbow to reach further: that is a press, and the chest skips it.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
