Cross-Body Crunch

How to do it

Lie on your back with your knees bent about 60 degrees and your feet down. Hands beside your head, fingers not laced. **Come up bringing your elbow towards the opposite knee**, rotating your torso, and lower slowly; alternate sides. The rotation is what brings in the obliques, but it has to come from the torso and not the arm. The classic mistake is pulling your neck with your hand to reach: if you feel your neck, rest the hand on your ear and let the abs travel as far as they travel.

Variants

The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
