Close-Grip EZ-Bar Curl with Band
Biceps · Barbell
How to do it
Attach a band to each end of the EZ bar and stand on the middle of the band with one foot. Grip the bar on its narrow section, underhand, elbows at your sides. Curl by bending the elbow and lower slowly without letting the band go slack. The band bites at the end of the range, which is where a barbell curl gets easy: that is why the top burns. The classic mistake is leaning back to beat the band on the last reps: the torso stays upright.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
