Cable Rear Delt Fly
Shoulders · Cable
How to do it
Pulleys above head height. Take the left one with your right hand and the right one with your left, so the cables cross in front of you. With the elbows nearly straight, open your arms out and slightly down into a T, squeezing the shoulder blades at the end; return slowly without the stacks resting. Crossed over, the cables keep tension from the start and the range is long. The classic mistake is dropping your hands below shoulder line: the lats take over there and the rear delt rests.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
