Box Squat with Bands
Legs · Barbell
How to do it
In the rack with a box behind you at parallel height and bands running from the bar to the base. Descend sending your hips **well back**, sit on the box for an instant without relaxing your brace, and explode up. The band is light at the bottom and heavy at the top, so it forces you to keep accelerating through the whole rep instead of coasting once past the sticking point. The classic mistake is bouncing off the box: you touch, pause briefly holding tension, and stand.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
