Alternating Deltoid Raise
Shoulders · Dumbbell
How to do it
Stand with a dumbbell in each hand at your sides. With the elbow slightly bent and fixed, raise **one arm out in front** to shoulder height, lower under control and do the other. No momentum: if you need a hip jerk, it is too heavy. Alternating, the resting side gives you a reference so you do not overshoot with the working one. You feel the front delt. The classic mistake is going above shoulder height: past that the work moves to the traps and the delt rests.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
