Floor Press

How to do it

Lie on the floor with knees bent and the bar or dumbbells up. Lower until your triceps touch the floor, pause a beat and press. The floor cuts the range right before the part that bothers a shoulder, so this is the press of choice when a shoulder is cranky, and it forces you to press with no bounce. You feel the chest and a lot of triceps in the lockout.

Variants

The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
