Close-Grip Barbell Bench Press
Triceps · Barbell
How to do it
Bench press with your hands at shoulder width, **no closer**: hands together loads the wrists without giving you more triceps. Lower the bar to your lower chest with elbows tucked and press. You feel triceps and some chest. It is the triceps exercise that allows the most load, so it goes first in the arm block.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
