Dumbbell Step Ups
Legs · Dumbbell · one side at a time
How to do it
Box or bench at a height where your thigh is parallel to the floor when you place the foot. Step up **without pushing off with the bottom leg**: the top leg does all the work. Come down under control, toes first. You feel the glute and quad of the working leg. The classic mistake is a little hop from the trailing leg: if you need it, lower the box.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
