Push Press
Shoulders · Barbell
How to do it
Same as the overhead press but with a **short knee bend** to start: dip a few centimetres, extend the legs explosively and use that drive to get through the sticking point, finishing the rep with the shoulder. The point is moving more weight than you can strict press, not squatting with a bar overhead. The classic mistake is dipping too deep: it is a drive, not a half squat.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
