Handstand Push-Ups

How to do it

From a push-up position, walk your feet towards your hands until you make an upside down V with your hips high. Lower your head towards the floor between your hands by bending the elbows, then press. The more vertical your hips, the closer it is to a bodyweight overhead press. You feel shoulder and triceps. The classic mistake is dropping the hips and turning it into a normal push-up.

Variants

The drawing is a handstand push-up, the full version. In a pike push-up the feet stay on the floor and the hips go high: same push, far less load.

The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
