Leverage Chest Press
Chest · Machine
How to do it
Set the seat so the handles are at mid-chest: too high and you press with shoulder. Blades on the pad and pinched, feet firm. Press without locking the elbows hard and return until you feel the chest stretch, hands behind body line if the machine allows. You feel the chest, and being guided you can grit your teeth and chase failure safely. The classic mistake is a seat set too low, which turns the whole thing into an accidental incline press.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
