Seated Side Lateral Raise

How to do it

Sit with your arms against the pads and your elbows on the machine's pivot. Raise to horizontal and lower under control. It is the easiest version to do well: the machine holds you in the right plane, so you can empty the shoulder without technique falling apart as you tire. You feel the side of the shoulder and nothing else.

Variants

The drawing shows the seated dumbbell version. The machine follows the same path, guided, with the pads above the elbows.

The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
