Wrist Rotations with Straight Bar
Forearms · Barbell
How to do it
Hold a barbell with both hands overhand at shoulder width, arms straight out in front. **Rotate your wrists forward and back**, rolling the bar in your hands, keeping your arms still and straight. It trains wrist rotation and grip at once, and works very well as a warm-up before heavy barbell work. **Empty bar or close to it.** The classic mistake is bending the elbows for help: the arms stay straight all set.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
