V-Bar Pulldown

How to do it

Sit at the high pulley with a V-handle and set the pad so it holds your thighs. Neutral grip, palms facing each other, arms extended overhead letting the shoulder blades rise. Push your chest out and pull the handle to your upper belly with the elbows driving down and close to your body; squeeze for a second and return slowly. The close neutral grip lengthens the range and brings in a lot of lower lat. The classic mistake is leaning back to pull more weight: the torso can tilt slightly, but it must not turn into a row.

Variants

The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
