Upright Row - With Bands
Back · Band
How to do it
Stand on the band with both feet and grip the handles overhand, slightly closer than shoulder width, resting on your thighs. Back tall. Pull with the elbows going up and out, hands close to your body, to chest height; lower slowly without letting the band go slack. The band is hardest at the top, which is where the traps contract, so it is a friendly version for touchy shoulders. **Stop at the chest.** The classic mistake is standing on too short a band and running out of range.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
