Trap Bar Deadlift

How to do it
Step **inside** the hex bar with your feet at hip width, centred between the handles. Hinge with a flat back to grip the neutral handles, chest up, and push the floor away extending hips and knees to standing. With the weight **at your sides rather than in front**, your back works far less and your legs far more: it is the easiest deadlift to learn and the safest to start with. The classic mistake is starting with very high hips and turning it into a good morning.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
