Step-up with Knee Raise

How to do it

Stand facing a box with your feet together. Step up placing **your whole foot** on the box and driving through that heel; at the top, **raise the opposite knee to hip height** and hold your balance for a moment. Lower under control and repeat. The knee raise adds balance and glute medius work on the standing leg. The classic mistake is pushing off with the bottom leg: if you hop, the working leg is not working.

Variants

The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
