Standing Palms-Up Barbell Behind The Back Wrist Curl
Forearms · Barbell
How to do it
Standing with a barbell held **behind your body** at glute height, gripped with your palms facing back. Let the bar roll to your fingertips as your hand opens, and close it lifting the wrist until it squeezes. Behind the back, the forearm works with a straight arm and no way to help with the elbow. It is a classic for grip and forearms anywhere. The classic mistake is shrugging to lift the bar: it is your wrists that rise.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
