Standing One-Arm Dumbbell Triceps Extension
Triceps · Dumbbell
How to do it
Stand with feet at shoulder width and a dumbbell in one hand, raised overhead with a straight arm. **Anchor the elbow pointing at the ceiling** and lower the dumbbell behind your head bending only the forearm; extend, squeezing at the top. Standing, your core works to stop you arching, which does not happen seated with a backrest. The classic mistake is leaning away to get it up: ribs down and glutes squeezed from the start.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
