Standing Dumbbell Straight-Arm Front Delt Raise Above Head
Shoulders · Dumbbell · ×2 dumbbells
You hold two: the weight you log is ONE dumbbell's, and volume counts both.
How to do it
Standing with a dumbbell in each hand in front of your thighs, palms towards your body and arms **straight and locked**. Raise your arms in front without bending the elbow and **keep going overhead**, until the dumbbells are above your shoulders; lower slowly the same way. Going past horizontal brings in traps and serratus on top of the front delt. **It needs mobility and light weight.** The classic mistake is bending the elbow past face height to keep going up.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
