Standing Cable Lift
Core · Cable
How to do it
Handle on the lowest pulley and stand side-on a couple of paces away. Grip it with both hands at the hip nearest the cable, knees slightly bent. **Lift the cable on a diagonal towards the opposite shoulder**, turning your hips and pivoting your back foot, finishing with straight arms high; return under control. It is the woodchopper in reverse: bottom to top. The classic mistake is pulling with your arms: the cable rises because the hips turn, not because your hands lift.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
