Standing Alternating Dumbbell Press
Shoulders · Dumbbell
How to do it
Standing with a dumbbell in each hand at shoulder height, palms forward and elbows flared. Brace abs and glutes and press **one only** to a locked elbow; lower it and press the other. The waiting one still holds its weight at your shoulder, so the work never stops. Alternating, your torso corrects on every rep and the core ends up working as hard as the shoulder. The classic mistake is leaning towards the pressing side: if you drift, the weight has beaten your core, not your shoulder.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
