Split Snatch
Legs · Barbell
How to do it
Bar on the floor against your shins with a **very wide grip**. Hips down, back flat. Pull, extend with everything you have and, as you drop under, **split your feet** and receive the bar with straight arms overhead. Recover bringing the feet together, front foot first. It is the old-school snatch: less hip mobility than the squat version, but more balance. The classic mistake is too short a split: without length you do not get low enough and the bar ends up in front of you.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
