Snatch Balance
Legs · Barbell
How to do it
This is a drill for learning to receive the snatch. Bar on your upper back with a **very wide grip**, feet in the pulling position. Punch the bar up with a short leg drive and **drop into a deep squat receiving it with your arms already locked**, landing your feet in the catch position. Stand up. What you train is the speed of the descent and the confidence to stay under the weight. **Start very light.** The classic mistake is pressing the bar up with your arms instead of dropping your body.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
