Single Dumbbell Raise
Shoulders · Dumbbell
How to do it
Wide stance and a single dumbbell held in both hands **by the top plate**, not the handle. Arms straight, hanging at waist height. Raise it in front with straight arms to eye level and lower slowly. Holding the plate puts your hands together and concentrates the work on both front delts at once. The classic mistake is leaning back to lift it; ribs down and glutes squeezed from the start.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
