Shoulder Press - With Bands

How to do it

Stand on the band with both feet and grip the handles at shoulder height, palms forward. Brace abs and glutes and press up to locked elbows; lower under control without letting the band go slack. A band is light at the bottom and heavy at the top, so the hard point lands at lockout, exactly where a free-weight press gets easy. It is kind to the shoulder and you can do it anywhere. The classic mistake is standing on too short a band and never reaching full extension.

Variants

The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
