Rack Pull with Bands
Back · Barbell
How to do it
Bar on the rack pins at whatever height you want to train: below the knee, above it, or mid-thigh. Attach bands from the base of the rack to the bar. Deadlift setup: feet under the bar, hips back, chest up, big breath. Pull to lockout feeling the band fight you harder and harder. **This is the lockout exercise**: short range and maximum tension exactly where a deadlift stalls. The classic mistake is bouncing the bar off the pins to start: every rep begins from a dead stop.
Variants
The drawing shows one way of doing it, and the technique above describes that one. Almost every exercise has variants — standing or seated, the grip, the bench angle — and is still the same exercise: if you do it another way, write it in the exercise note and you will have it every time you train it.
